How has bid recruitment behaved this year?

Despite recruitment slowing down for many sectors and skill sets, the bid recruitment market continues to be busy. 

Companies are relying heavily on their bid teams to win work. As a result, we're continuing to see bid management professionals in high demand, with a wealth of job opportunities available across all industries, locations and seniorities.

If you’re still looking to hire bid talent this year, it’s important to keep in mind that the talent pool is small. While it’s undeniable that the skill set is growing, there continues to be a real shortage of skilled bid management professionals. As a result, it’s important to keep up to date with how the market is performing. Knowing how expected salaries are changing is crucial to secure top talent.


Bid management salaries have retained their all-time high

Between 2021 and 2022, our data showed a 20% increase in salaries. Now, in 2023, we have seen those salaries stagnate at this higher level, with an average increase of just 2%.

The cost-of-living crisis continues to place emphasis on salaries. Pay is the most important consideration for candidates looking to move roles in 2023, according to a study from LinkedIn, We would strongly recommend benchmarking your salaries if you haven’t hired for bids jobs recently, as they have probably escalated during that time.
