The interim market has been busy and has kept pace with the permanent recruitment market. It is particularly buoyant for specialist projects such as CRM, website and paid media implementations along with covers of leave such as MAT leave and sick leave.

With the permanent market in overdrive, we’ve noticed an increase of businesses searching for interim cover to cope with growing workloads while undertaking permanent recruitment processes. It’s always been important to recognize the impact of increased workloads that gets spread across a team when recruiting on a permanent basis. Adding interim cover while hiring on a permanent basis can be a great way to ease workloads on existing team members.

IR35 has been effective in the private sector for just over a year and clients are starting to understand how to navigate role assessments effectively to ensure that they are putting themselves in the best position to hire the market’s top talent.

No one knows for sure what the economic outlook might look like and what this will mean for businesses, but it would be expected that if there is a form of recession, then businesses may also be looking to hire on an interim basis to mitigate risks associated of hiring on a permanent basis and the costs associated.
