Smart Energy GB

Smart Energy GB is a UK government-backed campaign for a smarter Britain. They work to distribute smart metres and help consumers understand how they can be used to make homes more efficient with their energy use. 

Our work with Smart Energy GB

At the start of 2019, 3Search was introduced to Smart Energy GB to assist with marketing hires in their growing digital team. This was the first time we had worked with the business and so, as with any new client, we wanted to make sure that we were able to deliver on the role.  


We met Penny Mills and the HR team, discussed the brief at length, and then put together a plan that would work for both Smart Energy GB and our timescales.


Understanding Smart Energy GB's marketing recruitment needs

Our recruitment plan was to leverage our network of digital candidates alongside a proactive search using various sourcing tools to identify candidates that matched the specific criteria we had discussed with Penny Mills, Smart Energy GB’s Head of Digital.  


The first roles we assisted on were a Digital Producer role and a Website Manager role. We delivered shortlists that matched the client’s requirements quickly within the agreed time frame and Smart Energy GB offered on the two candidates shortly after.

Since our initial introduction to Smart Energy GB, we have supported on a number of hires, including the hiring of a Website and Performance Marketing Manager. Performance marketing specialist recruiter, Jasmin Eastwood, was able to find a great candidate in the space of just three weeks.  


Jasmin really focused on finding a strong team and culture fit, something that can be difficult to do when working with a new company. But by taking the time to pre-screen all of the candidates selected and matching them to what we knew about the business and the individuals in the team, we were able to hit all of the requirements asked of us.

After this initial hire, Jasmin went on to work closely with Smart Energy GB to build out the digital team.


Jasmin continued to focus on a combination of skillset to match a strong personality fit, working to make sure that there would be a strong relationship between candidate and employer.
