Head of Amazon and Marketplace

The role is to accelerate the growth of the eCommerce business in the EMEA/LATAM regions with a focus on marketplace platforms such as Amazon, and other high profile marketplaces across the regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Global Head of eCommerce to develop the eCommerce strategy in respect of European and Latin American marketplaces and potentially D2C.
  • Prioritise platforms and geographies for growth, based on deep dive analysis on commercial opportunities.
  • Work with the regional head for EMEA, country heads and or commercial managers to deliver the financial targets for eCommerce in the region.
  • Collaborate with the local commercial teams to optimise the marketing and operations of eCommerce in LATAM/EMEA, especially with Amazon (AMS – Amazon Marketing, Store design A+ content, KPIs), with optimisation of SKU mix, sales, marketing spend as relevant.
  • Work with the head of Global eCommerce to establish and nurture relationships with regional/global platforms and develop appropriate business cases to launch brands with the regions (EMEA AND LATAM).
  • Protect Brand IP, and defend against rogue 3rd party and counterfeit sellers alike.
  • To foster and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Internal reporting working with the key markets to optimise the P&L so that the region delivers eCommerce net sales and EBITDA in line with budget.

The successful Head of Amazon and Marketplaces will

  • Be an Amazon expert, leading Pan European 1P/3P or both across an extended period of time, in one or multiple companies.
  • Be a super used managing brand stores and developing A+ content, working with AMS - although they won't be "pushing the buttons" in this role, they need to be the best in the room.
  • Strong knowledge of emerging e-commerce trends and best practice focus on online retailer platform and consumer engagement, lead generation models using social platforms etc.
  • Experience in Consumer Health Products (OTC) /Medical Devices/Food Supplements would be desirable.
  • A strong people leader - managing a direct report who will own the day to day trading of the Amazon account and scoping out additional opportunities for additional headcount in 2025 and beyond.
  • A fantastic communicator who enjoys reporting and presenting to Senior Leadership and board level, and can engage and educate throughout.
  • Have an exceptional understanding of the Amazon ecosystem and take pride in being ahead of the curve and the forefront of platform evolution.
  • Have a superb understanding of the broader marketplace ecosystem globally, and able to open new doors and sell the business proposition to new platforms.
