Senior Web Development Manager

3Search is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Web Development Manager for an exciting business in Alcester. This person will be a highly motivated self-starter who can help us accelerate their digital presence by improving the website performance to help drive SEO & lead generation. The Senior Web Development Manager will combine elements of data-driven testing and UX insights to enhance and improve the onsite user experience. You will be involved in defining their digital style, developing A/B tests, and internal projects, and mentoring staff across various disciplines. 

The role:

• Define technical requirements, work back timelines and scope detailed developer & engineering tasks for execution
• Perform ongoing site testing for quality assurance of performance, accessibility & customer experience and embed and manage effective quality control processes
• Debug site issues and work closely with developers and engineers to resolve
• Establish detailed launch plans for web publishing and releases
• Review staged development work to ensure it meets code quality standards (HTML/CSS/PHP/JS) and functions as expected for optimum customer experience
• Create, grow and manage an in-house development team to reduce reliance on third-party agencies
• Lead and establish priorities for, and manage subsequently, the day-to-day work of the internal development team and external agency
• Determine and manage the technical infrastructure/frameworks to deliver robust, secure and reliable web applications and services
• Monitor pro-actively the utilisation and effectiveness of the use of web technologies and applications
• Advise on and plan for future developments, including preparation of requirements specifications
• Provide professional support and work proactively with all such staff involved in the web across the company
• Work with the UX, design and content teams to develop and implement our new design system across the website, along with a content publishing method that minimises duplication of effort and content, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in web technologies and applications, in order to provide professional advice to the company

Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of back-end WordPress development, PHP, JavaScript, HTML & CSS
• Understanding of hosting, git, security, and APIs
• Ability to output clean commented, and team-friendly code and work collaboratively
• Testing & QA processes
