Our specialist ecommerce recruiters worked with Paladone, an award-winning consumer products brand, in late 2024. Having onboarded their new Head of Ecommerce, the business was ready to take a new approach to ecommerce.
Having previously outsourced their Amazon management to an American agency, our specialist recruiter, Patrick Murray, worked with the Head of Ecom to bring the skill-set in-house.
Established in 1994, Paladone has grown into one of the top consumer products suppliers in the world, selling to thousands of different retailers both big and small across 80 countries worldwide.
When James Prewitt joined the business as their Head of Ecommerce, he identified three roles required to bring the Amazon team in-house: Amazon Account Manager, Amazon PPC Manager and Amazon Operations Manager. The first two roles James hired successfully, but the latter required more assistance as it’s a more niche skill set.
The recruitment market is incredibly competitive for Amazon talent as their specialist skills are always high in demand. Employers receive hundreds of applications for a role like this and the very best candidates are quick to come off the market.

Patrick worked closely with James to understand the business’ needs and what they required from an Amazon Operations Manager in terms of soft skills and technical skills. As a new in-house team within the business, they knew there would be initial teething problems and required somebody who could navigate through this period.

The hiring team worked quickly to fast track them through the recruitment process, completing a three-stage interview process in just over a week. As a result, the successful candidate accepted the offer immediately.
By bringing this successfully in-house, Paladone has succeeded in bringing down their spend and increasing revenue. Plus, with the ecommerce team no longer managing external resource, they are able to focus on their own work and implementing the longer-term ecom strategy.
