We first began working with Sneak Energy in the summer of 2022. Post-pandemic, the business had to restructure the marketing department in order to set itself up for future growth. As a result, Sneak Energy brought in Mehul Garg as their Interim CMO.
Mehul has a history of supporting direct-to-consumer brands in their growth plans and building out their marketing teams. In this instance, he worked with Sneak Energy to create new marketing capabilities and roles to help implement the business’ three-year growth plan.

Sneak Energy were faced with the challenge of finding talent with the right marketing skill set and the suitable mindset to support a start-up in their growth period. As the company is based in Manchester, their search was intensified by the smaller talent pool.
The business was also looking to improve the diversity of its marketing team. When we first began working with Sneak Energy, there were only two women in marketing.
We are pleased to say that we were able to source top talent for each role and more than double the number of women in their marketing team, resulting in a “far more rich and inclusive” culture.
Michael built a team of specialist e-commerce, brand, CRM and data recruitment consultants in order to best support Sneak Energy with each hire.
Each specialist recruiter worked closely with Mehul to understand the company culture, goals for the future and detailed briefs. They kept regular communication throughout the process to allow updates from both sides of the search. Regular and open communication was key to the success of the team build.
Our specialist recruitment consultants utilised their experience, knowledge and networks to advise best-practice on each role and source top talent. As Sneak Energy needed each hire in their Manchester office three days a week, our consultants ran specific searches to identify talent that were within a close enough radius to commute to the office. The individual searches consisted of a combination of advertising across suitable platforms and specific headhunting searches to generate strong shortlists.
I’ve worked with Michael and Charlie for a number of years as both candidate and client.
