Hi, my name is Francesca Jackson (AKA Chess) and I lead the Product Management recruitment function here at 3Search.

Having worked in the space since 2014, I recruit for all Product Management jobs from Product Managers all the way through to CPOs. I work across every sector, with a personal interest in the FinTech, EnviroTech and HealthTech industries. I have a huge amount of experience in partnering with start-up/scaleup organisations from pre-seed to series C, helping a variety of companies to scale and grow.

My favourite part of my position as a product recruitment consultant, is that moment you find a candidate their dream role or even a role or company that they didn’t even know existed. It’s even more rewarding when you’re able to speak with them again 2-3 years on and get to see their personal and professional progression.

“I’ve connected families across the globe.”

The impact of our work as recruiters doesn’t go unnoticed by me. Recruitment consultants play such a large part in shaping, growing and developing their industry, and so I feel that we, as recruiters, have a responsibility to invest in their sectors as much as companies do. As a result, I am fully entrenched in my work, continuing to learn from and connect with a diverse range of product leaders.

If you’re looking for any advice in the product management space, be sure to get in touch. I’d love to speak with you.

To get you started, if you’re currently looking to take your product management career to the next level, it’s important to gain more insight into the variation of the product management role. Don’t silo yourself into one area. Aim to become an expert in all phases of the product train.

It's important to keep your customers at the forefront of everything you do, making sure that customer data is the main factor when driving a product and will the product not just help them, but will it delight your customer? Does this solve a pain point?

Looking for hiring advice?

As every recruiter will tell you right now, it’s important to move quickly to offer on candidates you’re interested in otherwise you risk losing them to other processes they’re involved with. It’s also important to avoid ruling people out for being over-qualified.

One of my most important hiring tips is to have a conversation with candidates at the start of the recruitment process to identify their individual motivations. This will allow the hiring manager to understand how they can best support individuals in their new role.

Providing a clear progression framework for your product managers and ensure they know what success looks likes and how it is measured. Invest in your product managers and provide them with the information and tools they need to succeed. Make them feel part of the north star goal and they will stay committed to your company.

To find out more about how we can help build your product management team, get in touch. I’d love to hear from you. Equally, if you’re looking for a new role, or even want some advice if you’re new to the space, don’t hesitate to get in contact for assistance with finding your next career move.
