We’re working with a respected UK brand seeking an experienced communications leader for a fixed-term role that’s anything but a stopgap. As Head of Communications, you’ll steer a dual-purpose agenda: crafting a powerful external voice through media and investor relations, and aligning internal messaging to galvanise teams around company purpose. You’ll join a high-impact marketing and client development function embedded at the heart of the organisation’s strategy.
The Head of Communications will own the full communications mix—external, internal, corporate—supported by a dedicated Communications Manager and a trusted PR agency. Reporting to senior leadership and working cross-functionally with HR and divisional heads, you’ll be instrumental in protecting reputation, engaging stakeholders, and landing key narratives with authority and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead strategic campaigns that boost brand profile across client, media, and investor audiences
– Manage a PR agency and develop subject matter experts as confident media spokespeople
– Shape the company’s media personality, spotting storylines and securing high-value coverage
– Drive internal engagement, ensuring leadership messaging lands clearly and consistently
– Provide reputation management counsel and lead on crisis comms planning when needed
Key skills:
– 10+ years in external/internal comms, ideally in FS, professional services or agency environments
– Proven media campaign leadership, with notable coverage outcomes
– Excellent writing, editing and verbal comms skills across platforms and formats
– Confidence and credibility with senior stakeholders and high-profile partners
– Experience managing teams and coordinating cross-functional communication strategies
