Birchbox is one of the great success stories in D2C subscription services. Headquartered in the US, 3Search Executive has supported the business with their UK expansion as they searched for a Chief Marketing Officer.

The search for Birchbox's Chief Marketing Officer

3Search Executive worked directly with the business’ UK CEO. Her remit was to scale and grow the business in the UK and, in order to deliver that, she needed to hire a leading CMO who would capitalise on their proposition and an expanding D2C beauty market.

The role was incredibly broad in scope, incorporating all ATL and BTL activity, as well as ecommerce and trading. As a result, our Executive Search team built a market map that catered for both exceptional track records in digital-first subscriptions businesses, as well as top-tier consumer marketing leaders with a huge breadth of scope.

Appointing a world-class marketing leader

A longlist and then shortlist was developed and delivered for the UK CEO and her leadership team. 3Search appointed a world class CMO in Sarah Wilkinson, formerly Consumer Marketing Director of Time Inc.
