We worked with Hammerson to assist in the search for a Placemaking & Marketing Director. This exciting, newly created role is the latest addition to a recently reshaped senior leadership team, that will help the FTSE 250 firm continue to create vibrant urban spaces where customers, communities, and brands thrive.

When Hammerson’s Chief Development & Asset Reposition Officer, Harry Badham, was looking for a marketing recruitment agency to support on this critical hire, he was recommended 3Search by a mutual contact.

Specialist property marketing recruitment consultant, Charlotte Titmuss, met with Harry to understand Hammerson’s requirements for this position. Looking to shift away from being seen as a traditional retail portfolio, the Placemaking & Marketing Director was created to drive consumer experiences within their assets. 


As this was a newly created role that encapsulated many different disciplines, Charlotte took a consultative approach to the brief. She helped Hammerson refine the job description to ensure that it was relevant to the talent profiles on the market. 


How a retained talent search can benefit your recruitment

Hammerson partnered with us on a retained search for their new Placemaking & Marketing Director opportunity. This allowed Charlotte the time to map the market and present a long list of candidates. She then worked closely with the business to shortlist the candidates who would go through to interview with them.

Due to the nature of the hire, the recruitment process was longer than we would recommend for the current candidate-led market. As a result, it was important for Charlotte to maintain momentum and excitement with the preferred candidates, so they were not lost to other businesses. She was successful in doing so and was able to help Hammerson secure their ideal candidate.
