The story of Hyve

Hyve is a global events business redefining what it means to connect through live experiences. With a portfolio of industry-leading events across sectors including retail, fashion, education and construction, Hyve delivers game-changing opportunities for customers through in-person events, digital platforms, and curated communities. 

Our team have partnered with Hyve since 2023. Having placed over 15 permanent and temporary roles in that time, they knew they could rely on us for further recruitment support. 

Challenge: Finding a designer with both creative depth and digital edge

Following an internal promotion to Head of Creative, Hyve needed to hire a Senior Designer. They were looking for someone who could work across multiple events and sectors and bring the right mix of experiential and digital design expertise. 

This wasn’t just a design role. While it didn’t carry management responsibility, Hyve needed someone who could motivate others, inspire great creative, slotting into the business as a future leader. It also required a rare skill set: experience with event and branded environments, combined with UX and digital know-how. 

Solution: A tailored, search-led approach

We knew from the outset that this would be a narrow talent pool. To get the right result, Yasmin ran a focused search, activating a mix of candidates—many of whom weren’t actively looking—and refining the brief in partnership with the Hyve team as the process unfolded. 

To maintain consistent momentum, Yasmin: 

  • Kept candidates engaged despite holidays causing breaks in the process
  • Worked with the Head of Creative to fine-tune the must-haves as they learned more about the market 
  • Balanced hard skills (digital design, branded content) with soft ones (team fit, adaptability) 
  • Maintained regular WhatsApp communication for speed and transparency

These steps helped us overcome challenges and keep everything on track, ultimately securing the best candidate for the job. 

Result: A creative hire who’s hit the ground running

Hyve’s new Senior Designer has settled into the team seamlessly and is already making an impact across multiple projects. The role adds critical capability to the creative function and strengthens Hyve’s long-term design leadership.
