Charlie Merrells, Amazon and Ecommerce Consultant, shares how to balance agency support with your internal Amazon and Marketplace team.
You've got to think about the agency in terms of what it is going to deliver for you, what weaknesses your in-house team can't address or needs support addressing, and whether the agency will be able to deliver on that. If you've chosen the right agency, it's then about making them work really well together with your team. If it's a once-a-month phone call with the agency, it’s probably not going to balance vert well with the in-house team, and it can become quite easy for the agency to become a scapegoat within the business.
If you have really entwined ways of working for both in-house and agency, and the metrics and objectives are the same, where you're trying to get to is all lined up - then you’ve got a great chance for success. I think knowing what the agency needs to bring to your business, but also what they can’t bring, and what you can give them to create a well-rounded approach will give you the best opportunity to succeed.
