Why did you become a contractor?

Ever considered becoming a contractor? We asked our network of interim marketing leaders why they chose to move away from a permanent role.

As an interim, I bring three key things. One is a fresh pair of eyes. Secondly, a passion and pace. The third one is the ability to understand and draw on different experiences from different sectors. 

One of the reasons I want to look at interim work is I love the variety that you get and the access to different industries that you wouldn't necessarily have if you're in a permanent role. It gives me a little bit more flexibility as well in my work-life balance, which is something that's really important to me. 

I love big challenges, I really love starting things, changing things, moving things. I do love a lot of variety, so interim really works for me that way. By doing interim placements, it means that I get to work 9-10 months at a place, I get to see a project through, and then I'm on to the next thing. That's what works for me.
