Having completed a product team build project for ClearScore (the creators of DriveScore) in 2024, our specialist team were brought in to find dedicated Product Managers for their new service. Dedicated product recruiter, Francesca Jackson, identified two Product Managers to lead their rapid growth.

The story of DriveScore

DriveScore is a subsidiary from ClearScore, launched as a standalone business to help drivers take control of their driving data and use it to access better car insurance rates. After a successful beta launch, DriveScore began to scale rapidly in 2025.  

To facilitate this growth, they needed to build out multiple product squads to support growth, experimentation, and monetisation. We were brought in to help them scale with the right product talent. 

Challenge: Scaling the product function from one squad to three

With the beta product live and proving product-market fit, DriveScore was entering a major growth phase. They were moving from one to three product squads and needed to hire two Product Managers to lead these high-priority areas: 

  • Loyalty and Subscription 
  • Innovation and Experimentation

There was no job description in place, so Francesca travelled to the DriveScore office to meet the MD and Head of Product in person. She watched the product in action, asked the right questions, and built the brief from scratch. This allowed her to take candidates on the journey and really bring the opportunity to life. 

Solution: Fast, focused hiring grounded in partnership

Francesca had already placed six roles across the wider ClearScore group, so she knew the business and culture well. This allowed her to move quickly, with minimal briefing and maximum alignment. 

She also set up a Slack channel to facilitate easy lines of communication. This allowed her to quickly present six strong candidates across both roles – including direct applicants and passive job seekers. 

The process was quick but thorough. It included a line manager interview, live task, culture-fit discussion, and final-stage interviews with the MD and Head of Product. Thanks to clear advice and strong momentum, both roles were filled without delay. 

Result: Two strategic hires to support product growth

Both Product Managers started in April 2025 and are now leading two of the company’s most critical product streams. They’re playing a pivotal role in helping DriveScore accelerate growth across loyalty, subscriptions, and experimentation.
